Another Thank You
Wednesday, October 27, 2010 at 12:22PM Our Third Anniversary was another great success, thanks to the volunteers and participants. Most of all, thanks to the contributing Prize Raffle venues, and to the artists for donating to our Silent Auction. Giving from your pocket book is always significant; we hope that the exposure will be beneficial to you.
Eleven of our own participating restaurants were very generous in donating a couple food trays each as samples of what you could taste inside. The food trays were offered to the visitors by strolling male members of our non-profit organization of the month, the Jacksonville Beach Lifeguards. Thanks also to the strolling Jacksonville Beach Lifeguardettes for selling raffle tickets. It is important to understand that the Jacksonville Beach Lifeguard Association is the first (and therefore oldest) Red Cross All Volunteer Lifeguard Association in the United States; yes, it started right here.
The attendance was at least double the normal, and possibly even three times the crowd. Overall, there were plenty of compliments dished out to everyone from visitors, which is always great to hear.
We can definitely see the results of lots more advertising, which put a large dent in our account. The one significant drawback was that many still were not aware that they could park and ride the trolley, or take the free limousine service we provide each month.
We average around 60 artists but had nearly 90 for the anniversary event. The quality of art is impressive, and getting better all the time. The The North Beaches Art Walk event continues to grow each month; we expect the same for 2011.
Again, thanks to everyone that contributed and participated.
